Yone attempts to produce a child for Mikuzu-sama by pairing Sakura of the Kyoto foxes with Kon, who carries the blood of the Ishimori foxes. But Kaede barges in during the ritual and chaos ensues. Nobimaru, who had been keeping an eye out for his chance to take the yangstone, and Raiden, who was hoping to save Kon, take advantage of the situation to make their moves.
